Hola Todos,
I´m still doing well here. This week has been a good. We´ve found a lot of new people to teach who live closer to the chapel. Hopefully that will help them to get to church while their testimony is still growing. We were going to have the baptism for one of our investigatores, but he needs to have an interview with the mission President. The not-so-awesome part though is that he doesn´t have a cell phone and his sister and brother-in-law, whome he´s been living with, havent´seen him in three days. They aren´t sure where he went, but they keep telling us he must with some other family in a different part of the country. There isn´t any way to contact him though, and he lives too far away to jsut keep stopping by. Now we just have to hope and pray that he´ll turn up safe and sound.
One thing that we´ve been doing differently this week, is that instead of finding people in the park or on the street that live in the further neighborhoods, we´ve been searching out the callejones (allyways) around the part of the city that´s closer to the chapel. It´s been an interesting search, but we´re finding a good number of people to listen to us. I love going through them too, because sometimes they´re really interesting and inventive and have really wierd architecture. In fact, that arcitecture that I´ve seen in the callejones is a lot more interesting than any other building that I´ve seen in the country so far. The best part about the callejones though is that ,when you go back behind all of the buildings and into the little knooks and cranies, it gets a lot quieter and a lot easier to feel the spirit in our lessons. It makes a huge difference.
Elder Deans bought a blender last week and we´ve deffinitely been taking advantage of having it. There´s tons of fruit that grows here and it´s perfect for making fruit smoothies. Speaking of which, Rebecca, or somebody with the internet, there´s a really good fruit here called "zapote", I really want to know what it´s called in english, and we can´t find the name anywhere. Can you tell me what it is? One thing that we´ve been enjoying is that there´s a tree in the back yard that produces tons of guayaba (guava?). It´s makes really good shakes, and there´s a lot of it. That´s deffinitely one thig that I´ve been enjoying about living on a tropical island.
