Hola Todos,
this week has been a little intersting. I got to meet (in a meeting but not personaly) President Hernandez. He seems really cool and sincere. He´s from Puerto Rico and was converted to the gospel about 33 years ago. He was a pediatric dentist before, which I´m sure is how he can afford to serve a mission. He seem excited and anxious about serving as a mission president, since he doesn´t have the added advantage of misisonary experience. In the leaders´ meeting on Wednsday he focused a lot on just gaining our confidence and teaching how to gain the confidence of investigatores when we first meet them, which I don´t think he reallizes is so easy with Dominicans. He talked a lot about Expalain, Demonstrate, Practice, Evaluate, and Re-Practice, or as he learned it years ago in his buisnes working with children, drills, and sharp instroments, Tell, Show, and Do. He seems really cool and I´m sad that I won´t really get to know him before I LEAve the mission.
Well, Margarita Matos, the only non-member in her family of all members and missionaries. Has continued coming to church. ShE has Now coMe for three weeks, that past two in a row. The ward members are amazed, saying how they´ve never seen her come to church before and vnever thought it would happen. She still doesn´t commit to anything, and we only teach her once a week, but the commitments she hasn´t commited to she´s kept anyway. We´re going a little easy with her to let her take it at her own pace, but we´re going to start focusing on the concept of eternal families and knowing weather or not the Book of Mormon is true. It´s definitely not us doing all the work. It´s mostly her son that´s serving a mission and gave us the refferal and that son´s girlfriend, who goes over to her house every Saturday night to make sure that three are no chores to do and therefore absolutely no excuse to stay home on Sunday morning. I´m really hoping we can help her accept the gospel and get sealed in the Temple with ther family. She´ll have to face a lot of opposition when she joins the church, because all of her friends are from her activity in the Adventist church, but we´ll try to get hear as ready as we can.
