Hola Todos,
This week we´ve been working hard and teaching all of the people that we´ve found. Not very many of them have progressed well, but we´re still working with them to help them reallize this importance of the things that we´re teaching them. A few of them are really starting to catch on. we´ve had a number of lessons where the spirit has been really strong and given us exactly what needs to be said. For example, we´ve been teaching a mother,Sara, and her 15,13,and 11 year old kids. The kids have taken the lessons really well and are always excited to read what we leave them in the Book of Mormon. They always go to church on their own and go to all of the church activities too. Sara on the other hand, doesn´t ever read anything we leave, hasn´t ever gone to church, and really hasn´t showed any interest, apart from wanting her shildren to always go to church. Last night we went with a member to theach them and only Sara was home. We talked for a while about why she never put forth any effort to learn about our message, and we were finally able to break through to her just a little bit. We really ended up just re-teaching the message of the Restoration of the Gospel and espacially enphasised the need for personal effort in recieving personal revelation. We felt the spirit strongly, and once again i had the experience of of the spirit putting words into my mouth and using scriptures that I hadn´t thought or expected to say on my own. I hope that what we and her neighbor friend said will have left an inpact in her and she will start to put forward a little more effort, as she committed to do.
There´s not a whole lot else I can thnk of this week to say. We´ve been working hard and coming back exhasted everyday. It remainds me of when I started the mission and Elder Enger and I would always come back to the house, plan, sit on the edge of our beds with the fans blowing on us, and wake up the next morning with shirts and ties still on and our leggs still hanging off the side of the bed. It really is grattifying to know that the spirit is willing to work through you so much and to know that our efforts here are for a great effect, thanks to the testifying power of the spirit through our labors.
