Hola Todos,
I´m doing well. This week has gone by great, with a few new investigatores, which is always a great plus. I´m still doing well and my attitude is still the same, as it usually is. Ya just gotta keep workin and doin it right. This week I´ve had to do a couple of interviews for baptism, which has been a little interesting. The first man I interviewed got about half-way through the interview before it became apparent that an interview will be needed with our Mission President, for which we will have to take him to our Zone Conference in La Romana next tuesday. The next interview I did was done through a translator, translating from English to Haitian Creolle, while I read the baptismal interview questions in spanish and translated them into English, because the translator doesn´t know very much Spanish. There are too many languages in this world, it´s a good thing that we have the spirit with us to help us out with that little difficulty.
This week I visited an investigatore who has been attending church for about eight months now, but hasn´t been able to get baptized because, up to this point he has been telling us that he has a wife in Haiti with whom he needs to get married. His story has been changing sporatically however, durring the last couple of weeks. We visited him in his house with a member one night to translate for us and assure that there was absolutely no miscommunication on the matter. This is due to that fact that this investigatore usually understands what is said in Spanish, but at times becomes confused. We first talked with him about the matter and he eventually settled on a fixed story, although the spirit tells me a different one. He actually needs to have an interview with the Mission President as well, but now I should at least be able to explain the difficult sittuation and background to him. Afterwards, I felt prompted to sing a hymn before starting to share a scripture with him. Due to the lateness of the hour, the distance from our house, and my desire for protection from thieves along the journey home, my eyes were drawn to the hymn "Abide with me ´tis eventide" and we then sang it. At the end of the hymn, my eyes were drawn downward to the scripture refference at the bottom of the page; Luke 24:29 (I think). I was prompted to share the scripture, although I didn´t remember ever having read it, and was completely taken over by the spirit. I din´t remember what exactly I said or taught, but I will never forget the feeling of being completely guided and dirrected to say and do exactly what this investigatore needed at this time of trial and waiting. I look forward to being able to contunue being used as an insturment to help those we meet here. I know that as we remain worthy of the company of the Holy Ghost, we are not merely partakers of the ensuing peace of his pressance, but also made participants in helping others come unto Christ and the desires and plans that he has for them.
