Hola Todo,
This week went really well. The family that I told you all about a few weeks ago had some baptisms yesterday. We baptised Rosalia and five of her children. I baptised the first three of them and Elder Valdez baptized the other three. They were really excited for their baptism and we´re looking forward to continuing the lessons with the rest of the family.
We were excited to hear from one of our recent baptisms the other day. One difficulty that the church has in this area is that nobody ever pays their tithing. In most areas the number of members that actively attend church and the number of people that par their tithing are about the same. Here however, just about nobody has the faith to pay their tithing. The inverstigator that called had some doubts about the church that we were able to resolve before she got baptised. When we saw who it was that was calling us we were afraid that she might have heard some more misunderstandings about the church that she wanted to ask about. To our surrprise, she asked us where to obtain a tithing slip because she really wanted to pay her tithing. We were really excited to hear this. It´s nice to see new converts that you taught not only accept the gospel, but to be strong and faithful members as well. It was interesting to see the change in this investigator before and after her baptism. Before she always seemed to be sad about one thing or another, but now she has changed the way she dresses and is always smiling and happy. Two of the most grattifying experiences in my mission so far have been this phone call and to be able to see the first man I baptized baptize his son a while later.
Not much else to talk about right now. I have pictures I want to send, but the internet center I´m in right now is being really slow and won´t send them. I´ll include the pictures in next weeks e-mail.
